Welcome to the Austin Drupal Users Group! Our goal is to help each other, make new friends, pass along referrals, and learn new and interesting things about Drupal that will ensure our web sites are what we want them to be. Be sure to introduce yourself and join our new Slack group.
Need a +1 or twelve for a simple issue: Add an "Associations" field to our d.o profiles
Apologies in advance for this crossposting to 11 groups. I recently started an issue to help us get to know each other better: Add field for "Memberships in Associations, Societies, and Other Professional Organizations" to User Profile. The initial response was, "Don't see why not, but let's hear more support before we do." So this is an appeal to read the issue and consider giving it your support.

I have a Drupal site which lists businesses and client recommendations. 1 business may have 0 or more client recommendations. Clearly the foreign key is on the "parent" business record. In Drupal talk, the nodereference is on the business node.
Read moreglobal variable scope with php include scripts external to Drupal
A Drupal site I'm working on requires that I php-include an external db app for listing records. Outside of the Drupal document root, I can run it just fine, but as soon as I make the php include either from within Drupal or just if it is run within the Drupal folder, none of the global variables are referenced from file to file-- I suspect some apache config somewhere but can't find it.
The application is built up of about a zillion library files with constants, functions, etc. The constants are referenced like you would expect:

Read moreTroubles with Custom Theme using 960Grids Base Theme
I am trying to build a custom theme for my much discussed photo workshop site using the 960 Grid base theme. I get it running all right, except one small problem. None of my blocks are displaying. In their place I get "1" or "0". The regions seem to work right, properly sized, etc., but the blocks aren't showing.
Here is my theme.info file:
name = Vandivier
description = 960 Grid Subtheme
version = VERSION
core = 6.x
base theme = ninesixty
engine = phptemplate
stylesheets[all][] = reset.css
stylesheets[all][] = 960.css

We are looking for suggestions for improvements of our Drupal/CiviCRM site http://lptexas.org . There is money for making it more appealing and useful, so suggestions or perhaps a little volunteer work could lead to contract work. No promises, but perhaps worth your attention. Some of the obvious ones include:
- Better online donation form that meets federal and state reporting requirements.
- Subsites for every county that can be managed by the county chair or someone local to post things like calendars of events.
- Subsites for candidates that they can manage.
Loyalty program
Has anybody implemented a customer loyalty program with Ubercart? Something along the lines of:
After 5 orders, 10% discount
Between 6 - 10 orders, 15% discount
11 + orders, 20% discount
panels? books? Looks good and helps the site editor/admin not mess up the website
Always on a quest for the best way to make a good Drupal site structured.. I am one to impose limitations on the user (site editor) in order to preserve good site structure, but I have come across something that has thus far eluded me.
I am using a separate Panel per site subsection with several Panel Variants therein all based on path in order to produce a consistent site subsection navigation experience: common left menu, 2- or 3-columns within based on current page, and similar side components per page.
Read moreHelp with OG and PHP Field
Alright... so I've got a view which identifies users with a sign-up for a workshop and executes a custom php snippet to subscribe them to a group which serves as the on-line classroom. I am using og_subscribe_user for this and it works great.
Now, when the workshop ends, I am going to remove them from the group and purge their contributions from the group. Browsing the CVS I find the og_unsubscribe_user function which looks like it work just like the og_subscribe_user function. Great! Except, the function doesn't exist in the latest stable release of OG.

At our last meetup, Erik Summerfield of http://www.phase2tech... gave a presentation on Section Fronts and Views. Originally scheduled to be a a brief technical presentation to complement the scheduled Color Pairings and Contrasts, this was expanded into a full-length presentation that also included some panels discussion and demos.
