Camp and Community trivia?
Hey folks, it's your friendly neighborhood DrupalCamp marketing writer here!
As I work on site copy, it's occurred to me that there could be some cool/interesting history and trivia about our community and its camps. I see that we have a wiki page for drupalcampnyc history (er...well, now I can't find it again...), but more a chronology.
Read moreStandard site name for Drupal Camps
Drupal camps have been very valuable sources for learning many things from Gigs and also update with new stuff. Its really useful to watch videos/slides after the camp is done but everyone having different names based on their group, year which really confuse a lot, I mean they can any name they want but the site name for all the Drupal camps I feel should be consistent so I don't need to track or search for it.
My suggestion is:
year.drupalcamp.groupname
For ex:
2011.drupalcamp.nyc

Hello all,
We are now full-steam ahead in our planning for what will be the largest Drupalcamp ever held in New York City. We have not formally made the announcement of venue but that will come shortly (we're working out particulars of what facilities we will be using). However, it will be at a prominent University in Manhattan :-)
At this point, we are looking for volunteers that are willing to help in the next couple of months leading up to the camp. Positions include but are not limited to:
- COD site administration and maintenance
- PR/Marketing support
Drupalcamp 10 NYC Planning Page Wiki
I've created this page to help the Drupalcamp 10 NYC organizers centralize the links to the pertinent planning documents that we are creating. For this particular camp, we have standardized our documentation tools on Google Docs. That is not necessarily what we'll be using in future camps, but this is what we're using now to keep it simple.

VENUE
One possible date is December 18 at Hunter
We'd only have 7:30am-12:30pm for large room
They're looking at $1k for the lobby space - this seems high
If we want Internet (Wireless) it's $500
The Danny Kaye theater is $5k for the half day. Everyone agrees this is very expensive.
So we'd be looking at a total $13k.
NYU Law has availability November 20th and it will run $16k (with food on top required to be booked with their catering)...
