I think there's something in my account's signature file that's causing everything I write in a comment to be an h2. Could you please nuke all the data in my sig field please? I already tried it through the user/edit, but no dice.

Call for icons

Hi all. I would love for someone out there to contribute six icons for this site. They would represent the node types in use here.

I need a small version which will go in each row on listings like on the tracker page. Also a larger version which will go at the front of every node title on the group home page.

If anyone can point me to freely available ones thats welcome as well.

More tweaks: Language and My Groups

More tweaks today.

The groups overview page now has a Language field and exposed filter. Just trying to highlight how global we are.
The My groups block now list the number of new posts in each group.

Persistent login enabled... and jobs block trimmed

I have enabled persistent login module. This adds a checkbox to our login form where you can choose to have drupal remember your password. let me know if anyone sees login glitches.

I also trimmed the Jobs block in each group so jobs created more than month ago disappear. Lastly, a few days ago I added a Jobs block to the homepage.

OG and Captcha updated

OG updated for fix to email notifications. I'm hoping that we see no more duplicate notifications when posts are posted to multiple groups ... captcha uses a simpler test and a preview bug is fixed. let me know if anything arises.

What happened to the "About" and other links at the bottom of the page?

Hey all,

There used to be an "About" link as well as a running tally of total members and total groups. What happened to these? I was going to go to the "About" page but it's gone.

both modules updated to latest released versions. please keep on eye on jobs since thats where cck is used. views is used for node listings like groups directory, group homepage etc.

this is prep work for converting our event nodes to date.module based nodes. one day soon ...

captcha.module installed

I added latest captcha to this site. It is active for story form, registration form, and comment form. i will soon change og so there is a confirmation form when subscribing to a group since we've seen group subscription spam as well. we are using the text form of captcha, since that seems the sanest to me.

once you pass a single captcha, you never see it again as long as your session is active.

Month droplist resets to January everytime nodes are edited

I believe this issue has been discussed before but I searched for it here on g.d.o and couldn't find it. Sorry.

As many of us know, after creating an event and then attempting to edit it, the month defaults to January. Over on drupal.org under Month and minute droplists reset everytime nodes are edited, it states that the bug has been fixed. However, the problem persists on g.d.o.

HUNDREDS of spammers signing up to Conributed Module Status group!

On Monday, 7/16/07 when I glanced at the number of subscribers to the <a href="http://groups.drupal.org/contributed-module-status>Contributed Module Status group, it stood somewhere around 950.

To my surprise, Wednesday morning it had ballooned to 1259. Suspecting something was wrong, I checked the list of subscribers and spotted the problem right away. Spammers. Damn them!

Job posting status

So I've been out of the loop for a few months, and now there's this job posting functionality available. I've been poking around, but can't seem to find anything more on guidelines other than what is presented when creating the posting. What I'm interested in knowing is if there are any guidelines on how long a posting is valid for. I've seen several for short-term positions that are months old for jobs that must be long done by now. Are the job postings just going to hang around forever?

Does anyone know the URL for a calendar that is specific to the group? I believe this used to be available but can't figure it out now.

Once we get that the next step will be making it more discoverable for all users (e.g. in a block on the group home page or on the calendar page or something) but this is the first step...

Duplicate email notifications

Right now when a post is submitted to multiple groups and a user is signed up to those groups we get multiple email notifications with the same email. Is there any "easy" way to set it up so there is only one email notification per post and that it lists the groups that the post belongs to? It's not a huge deal but would help when going through emails. :-) Moshe and anyone else, any ideas on this? Is it possible and how much work would it be?

Problem with text bleed-over into image area of Austin group

Maybe a link in the site mission statement?
