Policy on crediting sponsors?

I'm wondering if there's any official policy regarding crediting sponsors on G.D.O. - Could an individual credit sponsors in such a way as is displayed here?. Obviously there would have to be some guidelines if such a thing were allowed.

Warning message . . .

I sent a warning message to user Cary Gordon (http://groups.drupal.org/user/2929). Here is the content of the message I sent:

"Your recent posting at http://groups.drupal.org/node/15705 violates one of the rules of job posting:

Please post your job listing to no more than 4 groups. If you post to more than 4 groups, you will get one warning, after which you will have your posting privileges revoked.

Request to take over drubb group

I have the perms, but I want to make sure there's a paper trail. I've sent an email to tounano@drupal.org and will give him time to respond. If no answer or if he gives his blessing, I'd like to take over drubb, rename it, and make it into the central hub for forum improvements both with core forum and contrib modules for forums.

feedback mechanism for moderation queue

getting feedback from users whose groups are in moderation has not been very efficient - and probably casued frustration for people in the queue.

We probably need a little thought as to best make this functionality work. Discuss here: http://drupal.org/node/319073

Please add a <br /> tag to filtered HTML

Just now I was editing a comment in order to add a couple of line break tags to clean up its formatting, and I encountered the fact that the default input format does not allow us to use a properly-formatted <br />. Moshe, could you please fix? TY.

Possibly inappropriate job ad (maybe illegal in some countries?)

I just noticed (while being subscribed to the jobs tag) that the following node appear in the feed...

http://groups.drupal.org/node/15126

The ad in question reads very much like they want a female programmer which under the circumstances of the role could be deemed "fair enough".... However (I believe this is true at least for the UK) you are not allowed to advertise jobs this way. Hypothetically if I, as a male, were to apply for the job and be turned down I could then take up legal challenge that it was because I am male and not female - ie, sex desxrimination.

Lock a Wiki

I think we need a way to lock wikis.

We do this as a hack on some of them by putting "Don't edit this any more - it now lives in XYZ location" in big letters at the top.

My scenario is that the slogan proposal wiki has started to attract spammers :(

One solution is the addition of an input format which is only available to whatever role the maintenance folks have. Then we lock a wiki by putting it into that format.

Other thoughts? Is this necessary? Is there a better way to do it?

Feature requests for g.d.o/usability

We're gathering people and resources to work on a better user experience for Drupal 7 in a more structured process

For that we'd like to see a couple of things happen;

  1. Can we have book nodes? we need to collect/group multiple posts into 1 topic. wikis are not really working for us there.
  2. a full html input format so we can embed flash, videos, presentations etc directly into a post instead of linking to it. Probably needs some restrictions, maybe only for the book nodes?

Deleted spam job post

The url was http://groups.drupal.org/node/14865 -- the job had nothing to do with Drupal -- more of a call center/staffing operation.

Waiting for group to be approved

Hello,

I submitted a group for approval the other day (Perth, Western Australia) but I did not receive an email from g.d.o regarding the application. I haven't yet heard back from a site maintainer so I am wondering if something went wrong during my application or if it is still in the moderation que.

Kind regards

Alex Cochrane

Non-absolute URLs do not redirect to proper destination

The user URL on http://groups.drupal.org/user/22517 is not redirecting to www.neusolutions.com as it appears to do. My own personal account page URL, found on http://groups.drupal.org/user/4009 does. Therefore I suspect that all non-absolute user profile URLs are redirecting to a place within the $base_path of groups.drupal.org and causing a 404.

Available Sign-ups should show only upcoming events

If I understand correctly, the Sign-up function is to indicate your planned attendance at an event. If that's true, then the Sign-ups > Available tab should display only upcoming events and not past ones.

More effective tracking of wiki pages

Possibly, I'm missing something, but within the current options available via the "Recent" tab, it is difficult to keep track of wiki pages, as the posts on the various tabs (My Recent, My Unread, Recent Posts) are sorted by most recent comment date. So, when a wiki page is created, even if it is continuously updated for 48 hours, it will sink off the top page over time, as new posts come in and receive comments.

My proposal: Add a 4th tab: Wiki Pages - this page will show all wiki pages in groups where the logged in user is a member, sorted by Created/Updated date.

I don't know what to do

I just created a new drupal group. I got an e-mail saying that my submission was still pending. The e-mail suggested that I broaden the definition of my group but gave no reason why my group was still pending..

It kinda leaves me hanging. I have no way of responding to the suggestion or explaining why I chose the geographical location I chose. And I don't know if that if complying with that suggestion is what is keeping my group form being approved.

Revision History

Would it be possible to turn on revision histories for all logged in users? In particular this would be really helpful for Wiki pages to be able to see where (and why) things were edited so one doesn't make the same mistake again later.
