Mission

The goal of the Drupal Social Initiative (Social API) is to harmonise Social Networking functionality in Drupal; provide more functionality to end-users; provide easier site creation and configuration to site administrators and developers; and enable easier module maintenance for developers.

Objectives

Provide a common interface to access common functions across multiple social networks. Making it easier for:
Developers to create and maintain social network integration modules.
Site builders to utilise social network integration modules that harmoniously work together.
Users to access social networks functionality.
Let's work on clarifying these objectives over the next few weeks leading up to the Abstracting Social Networking functionality in Drupal sprint.

How to list members in a group using views Drupal 7 [ Profile 2 + Organic Group ]?

I am using Profiles 2 and Organic groups.

I was successful in listing users via views > Users.

I am using "profiles 2" module to collect and store details of users rather than the core drupal user management.

I have created few groups using "organic groups" module.

My question is how to list all the "PROFILES" (created via profile2 module) of members belonging to a group using views ?

Hey guys am trying to create a simple rating system wherein user can rate other users.

To rate or vote other user the user must

1) Be an authenticated user

2) Be part of the group.

Here is an example for better understanding.

In my site i have these users who are authenticated, TIM, JIMMY, SAM, TOM, NICKKY, EMMA, PHIL, ALEXA.

TIM has created a group called ABCD [ i am using organic groups and have provided access to authenticated users to create groups ]

SAM, EMMA and PHIL have joined the group.

facebook errors

Hi All,

I am using fb module, it worked fine for the first time.. After configuring some changes..

when i add a application it throws me a error...

Failed to get application properties (apps) from Facebook: An unknown error occurred 1

Collection of coins per user

I have webpage of mine coins where I have set if I have this coin in my collection and also if I have this coin for swap.
I change it be edit each coin node.

But I need it for my friends, which are also collectors.

How can I store these settings per user basis?

Social network site using the Media module

Hi,
what I think is missing from Drupal is a distribution/social network site that has multimedia as the central point.
So as people can share photos,videos etc.And the Media module could play an important role on this.
Is anyone interested on such a social network?Any thoughts?

Implimenting Credit Card Payment with drupal

I want to implement a Credit Card Payment with drupal. I am not using ubercart module , through a custom module I am getting the user details and the product information . Now I want to implement "Credit Card Payment" from this .Is any one did the same ??Need help on this?

Hi,
I am very new to Drupal and been searching some features which i need to be on my site.

1- I have my own database on my site which is mini Apps , its about Indoor sports where i have players,tournaments,matches , i have this site up and running , Now when i came know to Drupal , i am willing to make a site on Drupal , but i am worried how i am gonna show all my existing data in Drupal ,. in SHORT is there any modules which can run my queries and display results in tables, i have also a mode which compares all players performance using information in my data base.

drupal and diaspora?

is anyone working to integrate diaspora with drupal? it seems that at minimum, hooks could be made to connect a drupal user base with a locally-running diaspora pod. this would allow a drupal user the option to have their account "enabled" as a diaspora user too. from there, more could be built, including sharing activities (posts, comments, etc) via the diaspora pod to the greater diaspora network.

How to create Recorded Webinars functionality?

I have used video module 6.x-4.2 for drupal 6 with normal drupal file system storage.
This module is not able to render video more than 100MB.
I want to make a page for recorded webinars so obviously these videos are more than 500-600MB.

Is there any open source streaming software available?
or I am totally going in wrong way for video...?

Guys Please help if you have idea about how to host bulky video files into drupal CMS.

i added groups and followed everything as per og documentation and now i want to see the design of my page as face book means when i click on any user it should display left menu with all his pic, info and right with details.................

Design Initiative: Narrowing the use case - who are our users?

To scope this discussion - this is about our new core theme for Drupal 8 and who it will serve, and how they will use it.

Its not possible to design and build something that will suit everyone, so we have been working on narrowing it down to identify who might use our new core theme and what their needs might be.

I have expanded on this and tried to think about skill-sets, constraints, features and what type of sites might they be building.

Proxies -- grant a one way relationship

I would like Users to be able to grant a Proxy relationship to another User so that the recipient will be voting for both parties.

The goal is to use taxonomy to categories Vote Topics (nodes) and for a User to extend/grant a proxy right to another User to vote for them on a topic, a combination of categories, or all topics.

I picture the proxy holder voting on topics normally via votingapi (Up/Down in my case), using Rules to record the event, and a cron process to cast any proxy votes.

OG Theme changes

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to make the first contribute to this great module for Drupal7.

This is a module that can change not only OG, but the way that drupal is seen.

OG_THEME was recently separated from OG main module http://drupal.org/project/og_theme , because of that there are not many users for now.

If we can add 3 more fields to og_theme:
- LOGO as a image field;
- SLOGAN as a text field;
- EMAIL as a text field.

If we add this 4 fields (Theme, Logo, Slogan e Email), to a 80 code lines module, this will override the site default values on the Organic Groups node.

I am investigating social networks built in drupal and other php frameworks. Would be interested to know if anyone has used drupal for a large (50-100k) social network. Or if anyone migrated from or to drupal for social networking and the reasons and experiences.
