Read moreTuition Payment
Hello,
First off, this isn't really a drupal question but I know a lot of you might have answers to my question. If this is not appropriate, please feel free to delete.
I work for a small college who is wanted to accept credit cards as a method for tuition fees, library fines, etc. How does the educational facility you work at handle this? Are emails sent out manually with invoices that can get paid, is the invoice generated for you by your student management software? How automated is the process?
Thanks for any direction you can give me.

Read moreTips for video learning site
Has anyone ever done any work on an e-learning type of project? I heard the latest lullabot podcast on drupalize.me, and I have a client that is fed up with their asp site.
Basically they sell video training, with a quiz after each video.
I'm pretty sure I could get the ubercart going fine, but I am looking to see what modules and video work-flow tips anyone can offer.
I am using the quiz module now, and would like to use the video cck field. They don't have the traffic yet to justify ooyala like lullabot did. Video downloads won't work for security reasons.

Drupal modules and distributions for use in education
Last updated by austinharper on Sun, 2015-10-04 23:09
I noticed that some other groups had things like this in searching and figured this might be something useful here. Especially for new people to our community it's completely overwhelming to search through Drupal.org's 7,218+ module list and know what to use and why. Please feel free to add modules / distributions to this list as well as a short description of how you've found them useful in an educational context.

Read moreLogging in with Shibboleth doesn't fire the "User Login" Event?
In my installation the users login with Shibboleth [1], but the rule [2] I've set up to be executed on "User has logged in" event, isn't executed.
On the other hand, when I login as administrator through the normal Drupal way, the rule is executed.
Does this mean that the external login event isn't handled at all?
Is there a way to overcome this?

Fundamental architecture of Parent & Child users and roles for an public Elementary school site
The bottom-line is I'm looking for suggestions on how to relate Parents to Children (who in most cases won't have an account) so Teachers know whose kid is whose, and Children can be signed up for after-school enrichment classes and the like, etc.

Read moreAnnouncing Certify - a module for awarding PDF certificates in online courses
Certify is a new module for awarding and generating PDF certificates to students based on a set of criterias. Currently supports quizzes from the quiz module and book pages from the book module.
The module require Quiz v4+, Book and pdftk installed on the web server.
It does not have a release yet (it's still rough around the edges and not recommended for production), but has working code in CVS. So feel free to try it out, file issues or submit patches. :)
Read moreModule to provide Drupal Etherpad Integration
I wanted to post something here to get some feedback on the Drupal/Etherpad module I'll be starting on soonish.
My plan at the moment is the create a CCK field which, when added to a content type, will pull in an etherpad into the page via an iframe. When creating the field, you'll be able to choose which of the many free etherpad sites out there you'd like to use or if you have one, your own install of etherpad.
Read moreELMS User Guide, or other documentation ?
First things first, Ive just started with the ELMS distro, and have to say thanks to all who put in this effort.
Im hoping for some learning resources to get me started. I am experienced with Drupal, but not ELMS systems. I know what I need to do with this Drupal ELMS distro, but from a few hours of hunting, cant find very much in the way of documentation/Users Guide/Tutorials...
Anyone have some links to share?
Thanks
Read moreELMS Alpha Distribution Released
Several years in the making, a distribution of ELMS is finally ready for feedback and public consumption. It's still an alpha so I wouldn't use it in a production environment but it's a good look at the direction of the ELMS distribution. ELMS has grown a lot since it was first brought up here but it's goal has remained the same: Lower the cost of entry for the creation of course materials.
Read moreDrupal Multisite with SSO to Moodle
After some research and testing, I failed to find a working up to date solution for Drupal multisite with SSO to Moodle.
We have several subdomains with Drupal and one domain with Moodle. We need to have users from Drupal sites to login to Moodle without login in a second time. Also, there is a need for Moodle to use Drupal users.
Would someone publish information on how to deal with this problem, please? Thanks.
P.S. We have are not going to use LDAP solution. The organization is too small to maintain LDAP server. We just need SSO implemented.
Read moreD6 or D7 Drupal Schools profile
After the great work done via the D5 Drupal ED profile. I was keen to find out if others would be interested in creating a D6 (and/or D7) schools profile from scratch using the current best practice.
What I would be interested in working on is the idea of agreeing a best practice starting point for all schools and seeing how far you can take it before everyone wants to 'branch'.
For example we might all agree that:
Install fresh drupal 6
install Date and calendar
create roles
Governors
Teachers
Students
Parents
Hope fully everyone is still onboard
