NYC Drupal Happy Hour?
For a while, I've wanted a more social, less structured meetup for the NYC group. Being new to NYC and from an area where the groups are much smaller, this is more of what I am used to.
I just saw this post from the Twin Cities group and thought it could work for this group. Something like this would hopefully be accessible to a good number of people since its during happy hour so drinks are cheaper and its not too late.
Any one up for this type of meetup? If so any ideas about a good location?

Another NYC Drupal Meetup Group?
Has anyone else noticed that the other NYC Drupal Meetup (I just read about it in the last discussion)? IT looks like it's been taking place for over a year, and yet I've never heard a peep here on g.d.o. I'm assuming that the meetups at Mansueto are still happening, though there isn't one listed right now. It seems odd to me that the owner of the meetup group isn't cross posting events here. Has anyone here been to the new meetup? Has there been any discussion about coordinating activities?

Starting the meetups at a later time
Who would be interested in starting the next meetup at a later time? I'm proposing this because I (and I'm sure others) get off work at around 6:30. Usually, by the time I get there, I feel like I've missed the meat of the meetup.
Thoughts? How about 7:00?

Theming Seminar
Just trying to see if anyone would be interested in a 2-day evening theming seminar held in Elizabeth, NJ sometime in January of next year. Becoming a bigger part of this group
How does one become more involved in the group. I am interested in seeing what resources I can lend to the group and what mutual beneficial aspects can arise. I have been to some meetings and have some ideas for topics and overall management.
Seeing that i am not really part of the "core team" and not really a "hard core dev" I have not really said too much as I don't want to approach anyone the wrong way.

Seeing the size of the BoF group that was interested in discussing the pros and cons of agencies vs individuals, and how to evaluate potential vendors, at tonight's meetup made me wonder...how many people in this group are either not developers, or are developers with a strong interest in exploring the business side of Drupal?

The next meetup will be held from 6 to 9pm, Wed., Oct 22nd at Mansueto, 7 World Trade Center / 250 Greenwich St., 29th Fl.. To sign-up just click the "sign-up" button at the bottom of the full post. The meetup agenda, like everything that happens with DrupalNYC, is up to you and will be determined based on your comments and suggestions. Please offer topics you'd like to present on or presentations you'd like to see. We'll meet in the main conference room for an intro and then break into smaller groups to discuss specific topics. The following are the suggested topics thus far:
Jingsheng Wang (skyred) will demo BornFree module BornFree, which lets Galleria work with Drupal. He has also kindly offered to present his solution for "mobilizing" a drupal website.
John Zavocki (johnvsc) will lead "open" discussion on practical aspects of working with Drupal. Continued...
